On Sunday 15th September, the RCGP Golf School kicked off the 2024-2025 season with the eagerly awaited ‘Future Champions by BSB’ Inaugural Tournament, sponsored by The British School of Barcelona. The event, full of excitement and sportsmanship, took place between 11:00h and 16:00h, with our young talents and families enjoying a perfect morning for golf.

After the tournament, the traditional family paella was held, which served as a prelude to the prize-giving ceremony and an informative talk on the new features and structure of the RCGP 2024/2025 School.

THE PROJECT AIMS TO BRING THE PRACTICE OF GOLF TO PEOPLE AT RISK OF SOCIAL EXCLUSION AND PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT ABILITIES IN TERRASSA

In an unprecedented solidarity initiative, the Real Club de Golf El Prat has received the support of the “la Caixa” Foundation, through CaixaBank, to bring golf to people at risk of social exclusion and with diverse abilities in Terrassa. This project has counted with the collaboration of several local entities, including the Association La Estrella, the Social Factory of Terrassa, TEA Vallès and Alei Terrassa.

This year, more than 100 participants have had the opportunity to enjoy days of golf at the facilities of the Real Club de Golf El Prat. These actions have offered an introduction to golf through specialised clinicians and have provided a space to enjoy and learn in an inclusive and accessible environment.

The participants have been transferred from their home entities to the club by bus, where they have been received with hospitality and enthusiasm. After the golf sessions, the #golfers enjoyed a picnic in a relaxed atmosphere, taking advantage of the magnificent facilities of the club. This experience has allowed participants not only to learn a new sport, but also to socialise and strengthen bonds in a safe and welcoming environment. This initiative will continue to be developed next year, with the hope of continuing to add participants, consolidating itself as an example of effective collaboration between sporting and social entities and foundations committed to inclusion and social welfare.

This year’s Meet Catalunya, held at the prestigious Hotel Camiral in Girona, was attended by the Real Club de Golf El Prat. This event, organised by the Catalunya Convention Bureau and l’Agència Catalana de Turisme, brought together the main players in the region’s tourism and events sector, offering a unique platform for promotion and networking.

The Real Club de Golf El Prat took the opportunity to present its spectacular facilities in a dynamic workshop dedicated to the celebration of events. With a proposal that combines elegance, modernity and an incomparable natural environment, the club demonstrated why it is one of the most coveted destinations for the organisation of events in Catalonia.

During the presentation, the various fully equipped rooms that the club offers were highlighted, ideal for corporate meetings, conferences and private celebrations. MORE THAN 100 PLAYERS COMPETED FOR A PLACE IN THE NATIONAL FINAL OF MERCEDES TROPHY 2024

Last Saturday 25th May the prestigious Mercedes Trophy 2024 tournament took place at the yellow course of the Real Club de Golf El Prat. A total of 100 players competed intensely for a place in the national final.

The winners of the Mercedes Trophy 2024 were: Handicap 1st category: Germán Plaza. Handicap 2nd category: Sandro Bugosse. Scratch: Valeria Biarge.

After the tournament, an elegant cocktail was held, which served as a prelude to the prize-giving and gift raffle, putting the finishing touch to a spectacular day.

The national final of the Mercedes Trophy 2024 circuit will be held next 29th and 30th June at Real Golf La Manga Club, and the world final will take place in Germany from 29th September to 3rd October.

MORE THAN 50 MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN ONE OF THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS OF THE SOLHEIM CUP AMBASSADOR CLUB BY PING CIRCUIT WITH FINAL AT LA QUINTA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Last Thursday, May 2nd, one of the qualifying rounds for the final of the Solheim Cup Ambassador Club by Ping Circuit took place. More than 50 participants gathered at the yellow course of the club, looking for a place in the final in November at La Quinta golf & country club.

Among the competitors, Maria Torrens came first in the lower handicap category, scoring a total of 37 gross points. On the other hand, Yingfen Ma finished as the winner in the upper handicap category, obtaining a total of 44 gross points.

After the tournament, the members enjoyed a lively cocktail party that preceded the prize-giving ceremony and the raffle of gifts from the tournament sponsors, including Natura Bissé.

THE YELLOW COURSE OF THE REAL CLUB DE GOLF EL PRAT WAS THE SETTING THIS PAST WEEKEND FOR THE START OF THE AUDI QUATTRO CUP 2024 TOURNAMENT.

THE AMATEUR CIRCUIT WITH MORE HISTORY IN SPAIN IS BACK, WITH 29 QUALIFYING TOURNAMENTS, TWO REGIONAL FINALS, A NATIONAL FINAL AND THE DESIRED WORLD FINAL IN OMAN.

On the 20th of April, we enjoyed a splendid day of golf, perfect weather for the practice of this sport and a course that received the players in sensational conditions. The course was enhanced by the presence of the spectacular Audi Q8 e-tron and Audi e-Tron GT, exhibited by the Quadis Motorsol dealership of the brand of the four rings, which caused the amazement of golfers and the public.

In this first regular test the victory in the Scratch category went to the couple formed by Bosco López de Lamadrid and Álvaro López de Lamadrid. In the Handicap category the victory went to Xia Li and Haijun Fang. While among the Audi Clients the winners were Miquel Riera and Alejo Farriols. These are the first three couples qualified for the East Territorial Final.

After completing their respective rounds, all the participants enjoyed a final cocktail in which the prizes were handed out and the winners were honoured. The next rounds will be played on Friday and Saturday 26th and 27th April. One of them at Fontanals Club de Golf, corresponding to the East Territory, and the other one at Real Club Sevilla Golf first of the West Territory.

THE SECOND EDITION OF THE PERELADA TOURNAMENT WAS HELD ON THE 6TH AND 7TH OF APRIL, WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF 212 GOLFERS, ON THE YELLOW COURSE IN FOURBALL STABLEFORD MODE

During the two days of competition, the players were welcomed with a splendid refreshment tent, courtesy of the official sponsor, Perelada. In addition, on Sunday, after an intense day of golf, an elegant cocktail was offered by Perelada, which preceded the prize-giving ceremony and the raffle of fabulous gifts.

Members and participants had the opportunity to indulge in an exclusive tasting of Perelada wines during the cocktail party. Among the outstanding selections was the exquisite Perelada Finca La Garriga Blanc 2022, praised for its aromatic complexity, freshness and fullness in the mouth. Likewise, the Casa Gran del Siurana Cruor 2019 wine captivated palates with its classic yet accessible character, showing depth and elegance typical of the Priorat region.

As for the champions, Enrique Uriach and Alberto Uriach took first place in the handicap category, accumulating a total of 47 net points, closely followed by Inmaculada Ferret and Carmen Valls-Taberner, who also reached 47 net points. In the Scratch category, the pair of Javier Aldamiz-Echevarría and José Felipe Bertrán won with 40 gross points.
